Barley’s Knoxville • Live Music from GREGG HATFIELD EGGAR HOLLOWAY • Jack Hatfield pulled this act together after the various musician helped him on a recording project. A Knoxville native, Jack taught acoustic instruments at Broadway Sound for seventeen years and performed on WNOX radio’s Saturday Night Barn Dance before moving to Pigeon Forge in 1989 to perform at Dollywood and Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede. He performed locally with the renowned mandolinist Red Rector and worked with Ava Barber and Dick Dale at their Starlight Jamboree theater in Pigeon Forge. Jack wrote a column for Banjo Newsletter Magazine for thirty years and still contributes occasionally. He has published over twenty-five instruction books for Mel Bay Publications and his own Hatfield Music. He was invited to be on the faculty of the very first acoustic music camp, the Tennessee Banjo Institute in Lebanon TN in 1988. Since then, he has taught banjo workshops all over the USA and in four other countries and founded his own Smoky Mountain Banjo Academy in Pigeon Forge in 2004. • 8:00 pm
